Hi! I’m Amy Riordan. I have been helping other women break free from shame, experience a deeper connection with Jesus, and discover who they were created to be since 2010.
Free to Be Me Coaching is the overflow of what God has done (and continues to do) in my heart and life.
As long as I can remember, I have had a passion for helping others. This only increased when Jesus began healing my own heart, helping me break free from fear and some strongholds that I felt incredible shame about.
I spent many years of my life trying to numb and shove down the pain in my heart, and I didn’t know how to talk to anyone about it, including God.
I started discovering intimacy with Jesus, and this was a huge turning point for me. Pursuing a deeper and more transparent relationship with Him was scary and intimidating, but I finally started to realize that He wanted all of me–not just a superficial version of me.
Years later, I started to realize that many of the expectations I had for myself, and the intense pressure I was putting on myself was not at all congruent with who God created me to be.
It turns out that I was unknowingly trying to be someone that I wasn’t. (No wonder I felt so depleted and frustrated.)
As I continue on this journey, I am finding more freedom, healing, and so much more joy. I have also found that when I am embracing who I truly am, I am much more effective in what Jesus has called me to do.
While I am a certified life coach, I also have a bachelor’s degree in social work and am licensed as a pastoral counselor through the National Christian Counselors Association.
I live in Pennsylvania with my husband and two teenagers and can often be found taking pictures outdoors, reading, spending time with friends and family, and camping in the summer.
